basic.work was born from Christina Baumgartner and Rainer Martin in 2018 in Austria. “basic” brings conscious simplicity into the center of what they are experiencing. This reduces their “work”, allowing a more authentic expression of life.
The task of basic.work is to illuminate the essential. Bisqueware ceramic are used in their work to create atmosphere.
They seek to create fascinating light and space environments, playing on the relationship between the people and the products. Conversations and communication are consciously immersed in specific, controllable light.
Christina and Rainer lived on the African continent for 12 years and this time shaped the two artists in essence and being. They realized numerous multimedia projects there; one highlight is the book “ I was born in Africa. “
The African country lifestyle instilled in them simplicity, form and color.
