Many were interested in the lecture and the event was attended by more than 80 guests.<\/p>\n<p>Director of the \u201cSenseable City Lab\u201d at MIT Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge\/ USA, and founder of \u201cCarlo Ratti Associati\u201d in Turin\/ Italy, the acclaimed author contributes to numerous prestigious publications internationally. His work is transnational as well: already during his apprenticeship as an architect and engineer at the Politecnico di Torino, Turin \/ Italy and at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chauss\u00e9es, Paris \/ France as well as during his doctorate at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge \/ UK, he was moving within a field of tension between disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>His latest projects and his numerous awards show that he kept on walking that road consistently. Carlo Ratti operates with the most modern methods of data processing and coding.\u00a0 His work aims at providing a base for future urban planning with thought provoking and inspiring questions regarding what moves cities and their residents, and what makes them a successful living environment. Moreover, he develops objects in the urban area that can communicate with their users.<\/p>\n<p>Forbes Magazine put Carlo Ratti on their list of \u201cNames You Need to Know\u201d in 2011, Wired Magazine on their \u201cSmart List 2012: 50 People who will change the world\u201d. Carlo Ratti\u2019s work is directive in times of urbanization, \u201cbig data\u201d and accelerated change.
