RELEA, a brand of Ledertech Deutschland GmbH, recycles soft upper leather remnants, punching waste of sole leather and remnants from tanneries into a high-quality leather recycling material for applications in the furniture, bag and fashion industries as well as in interior design.
Million tons leather waste per year
From the beginning, RELEA was developed with sustainability in mind. Every year million of tons of leather scraps are produced, of which only the sections of high-quality leather uppers from the consumer goods industry account for around 750,000 tons. RELEA aims to recycle this waste.
Ledertech Deutschland GmbH has been a pioneer in leather recycling since the company was founded in the 1930s, with a constant focus on innovation, sustainability and aesthetics. This long experience, combined with young design and innovative concepts, produces a unique material.
Circular economy in the leather industry
RELEA stands for a sustainable material that creates new creative freedom, enables innovative applications and meets the highest technical and aesthetic requirements. In addition, RELEA offers the possibility of circular economy by recycling companies’ leather residues, transform them into new products and returning them to the company. This contributes to the recycling economy in the leather industry and strengthens the sustainability of the sector.
