About KALDEWEI

The KALDEWEI name is world-renowned for its high-end bathroom solutions made of unique KALDEWEI steel enamel. As a valued partner for project business and private builders, the KALDEWEI portfolio, of over 600 enamelled shower surfaces, bathtubs and washbasins offers exactly the right solutions for the individual needs of international markets. Optimum product solutions, corporate responsibility, and competence form the basis of trust that clients worldwide place in the premium manufacturer.

What is sustainable about your products?

Sustainability is a built-in part of Kaldewei’s DNA. In our high-end bathtubs, shower surfaces and washbasins, steel and glass form a long-lasting bond to become superior steel enamel. Steel enamel is made from natural raw materials and at the end of its useful life, it is 100 per cent recyclable. That makes Kaldewei bathroom solutions particularly suitable for sustainably designed buildings and they are useful for builders and architects who want to greatly reduce the amount of plastic in bathrooms.

Which are the 3 most suitable adjectives to describe this and why?

Long-lasting, recyclable, gentle on resources

Kaldewei bathroom solutions are ultra long-lasting with a 30-year guarantee. At the end of their useful life, steel enamel products can be 100 per cent recycled which means that they conserve resources.

What is the secret to your success?

We are and remain a specialist. With 100 years of experience behind us and in the absolute certainty that ours is the best material for the bathroom, we develop solutions made of superior steel enamel for our customers. In doing this, as a family business we remain loyal to production in Germany. Kaldewei is the only bathroom manufacturer that produces its enamel – based on a secret formula – in its own smelting plant.

What is it do you like about InteriorPark.?

InteriorPark. long ago recognised how important sustainable building is if we want to preserve a livable environment for future generations. With over 30 years’ experience InteriorPark. is an expert on the subject of sustainability, offers orientation with regard to recyclable products and materials and supports the necessary communication with decision-makers.

What is good design?

Good design should be oriented to people’s individual needs, it should make their everyday lives easier and offer maximum added value. Products should be designed in such a way that they are not only long-lasting but also give pleasure for a long time. In this way good design also contributes to sustainability.

What are the greatest challenges for design in future?

Design is always a statement by the customer as well – expressed through the shape, the colours and the materials. All of these make a product into something special. In future, however, alongside aesthetic there will be a greater focus on areas such as sustainability and resource conservation.

How, for example, can ultra long-lasting products be integrated into new projects? How can products be made to stay modern and in tune with the zeitgeist even after many years? Can they adapt to users’ changing needs? This is where we will need solutions that reflect the zeitgeist and the respective requirements even decades later.
