Werner Aisslinger’s characteristically sculptural handle gives the impression of motion away from the body and into the space around. It emerged out of contemplation upon the opposing sequences of operations involved when opening and closing a door. Almost as a by-product of this thought process, shape was lent to an evocative moulded-to-the-hand model that accords in exemplary fashion with the Four-Point Guide to Good Grip devised by Otl Aicher.
